Do you have a SATA hard-drive and want to increase the performance of it? It’s simple! ;-) Write caching increases the performance of SATA hard-disks. It is recommended in laptops and computers connected to power supply regulators because the risk of losing data increases when power suddenly shuts out.

Simply follow these steps to enable write caching:

  • Click Start -> Run. Type “Device Manager” in the Open box and click Ok.
  • Now in the “Disk Drives” section, right click on the disk you wish to enable write caching and click on “Properties”.
  • Go to the “Policies” tab and check “Enable Advanced Performance”.
  • Click Ok until all windows close.
  • Now enjoy the performance of your SATA hard-drive. :-)
