Microsoft offering Free Support for Vista SP1

Windows VistaMicrosoft is trying to calm customers currently having difficulty with Vista Service Pack 1.  It seems as though a lot of folks have been having trouble with the first official Service Pack for Windows Vista, and complaints are stacking up at the official Vista blog.

Support is offered to anyone that has a legitimate Vista license including OEM licenses.  This type of support has previously only been available to customers that have purchased a retail license, while those who already have the operating system pre-loaded on their machines are referred directly to the OEM or reseller and are charged a nominal fee.  Microsoft is making an exception with Vista SP1.  The free support is offered through March 18th 2009.

This support is offered via email to a special SP1 support address, or an online chat system.  MSDN and TechNet subscribers, software assurance customers, and members of the Microsoft Partner Program will also have phone support available to them.
